Player Agreement

I, as a member of the Texas Summitt Basketball Program, understand that there are high expectations placed upon me by the Program Director and/or Coach.

 

Texas Summitt’s Commitment to Me:

  • Access to bi-weekly practices
  • Weekly Skills Training (as available)
  • Team Uniform
  • Tournament Play as Scheduled by the Program Director
  • Player Exposure as a Bi-Product of Program Success
  • Mentorship by Program Director and Selected Program Staff
  • Access to Player Support in School Athletic Programs by the Program Director and Selected Program Support Staff.
  • Commitment to developing both my character and my sport-related skills.
  • Commitment to making decisions for my team that are in our best collective interest.
  • Commitment to helping me to learn how to be a team player, a good example to others and a positive contributor to my home, to my team, to my school, to my neighborhood, to my community, and to society.

My Commitment to Texas Summitt:

  • Showing up for Weekly Practices focused, prepared, and ready to work hard.
  • Participating at the highest level of my ability in Scheduled Tournament Play
  • Clear and Timely Communication with my Parent(s), the Coach and/or the Program Director if I find that I am unable to meet expectations or manage stress that I may feel from trying.
  • Adherence to the “24-hour Rule” for Conflict Resolution with My Teammates and/or My Coach. Direction of Complaints or Concerns about my teammates to the teammate about whom I am having concerns in an effort to peacefully resolve conflict.
  • Partnership with the Program in Maintaining High Personal and Sport-Related Expectations and Standards Regarding Conduct and Behavior as a Member and Representative of the Texas Summitt Program. **

 

ACCEPT & PROCEED

 

** The Texas Summitt Program reserves the right to terminate its relationship with any player who declines to adhere to the expectations outlined in this Agreement. The Program Director will make every effort to resolve conflict in a manner that allows for the relationships that are formed between the Program and the players and the players with one another to be maintained even through reasonable conflict. The Program Director and/or Coach will extend the courtesy of a warning when this Agreement appears to have been breached by a player. However, if it appears that a circumstance surrounding a player will result in irreparable harm to either the Program, the other players and/or the families of the other players, the Program Director will not hesitate to immediately sever ties with the offending player without the courtesy of a warning.
